CONTRARY to suggestions in a newsletter issued recently by the Green Spaces Group, The CM Flooring Consett & District Sunday League is completely behind the proposed development of an educational academy at Belle Vue and the move to Crookhall by Consett AFC. We believe the resulting football facilities will be the best we have ever had, and fully support the development.

However, the decision to grant the academy planning permission is the subject of a judicial review in March, which could stop it going ahead, and therefore scupper our chances of getting much-needed new facilities at Crookhall.

There are claims that the people of Consett do not want the multi-million pound development because of where it is. We want the people of Consett to challenge this and support our campaign to get this development started!

We are calling on the people of Consett to sign our petition and remind everyone involved that we deserve these new facilities and that we want the contractors to START THE BUILD to secure a 21st century future for our children, and the future generations of the town of Consett.
